I would like to see video proof of Oil Ocean 2 as Knuckles as I was sure at the time it was maxed because I worked hard at it and found some really hard combos.

3
I found his youtube and noticed that he used the 3DS version of this game. I was told by SonicAD (I think) that the DS version of the classic Sonics weren't allowed for competition for some reason I can't remember, which is why I didn't use it myself. So no idea about the 3DS version. Just letting you know.

Well as I said in a skype group I am in, I think I was being a bit too hasty and wasn't thinking straight. I would rather take a step back than a step down so I would actually like to have my admin powers back please.

Wasn't sure whether to make this topic or just go quietly, but I thought I should say something given the way the site is in. I have decided that I don't want to be admin here anymore for personal reasons that I don't really want to go in to. Also I have more important things going on in my life that really need more attention.

I am glad that I found DsS's videos on S06, mentioning this place, which made me google it and sign up straight away. I have met so many wonderful people here and the best boyfriend I ever had. However, it's time to go on and do other things. Don't worry I'll still be around on twitch, twitter and skype :)

Yes either Zeupar does it or Sadistic Mystic gives me full admin forum powers and I do it.

mathfreak: If you want to help out then please speak to Gerbil about it. If you did find out anything about the site, please don't post them publicly and just send them to Gerbil.

First of all I didn't shoot him down, I only stated no.

Second of all how do we know he's not doing any harm to the site. When I asked someone about this I got the impression that it might not be a good thing. If he wants to help that's fine, he should've gone to Gerbil in the first place and talked to him about it, before making a false account which I had to nuke.

Funnily enough one of the things I was thinking about TSC is that I'm pretty sure we don't have a link to our twitch team on the site. This could go under Media on the menu with a link to this. We also have a twitter account and a youtube channel (which I have no idea when it was last used). Again this could go under Media.

Also I do understand what Hyper said about the site needing massive changes and unfortunately I can't do that, but I haven't really thought that far ahead and only thought of small things that could be done.

I understand what you guys are saying which is why I said in my post 'if the site should/can be changed in some way or not.' It does look very much it is too late but at least this way I can say I tried :(

After reading these posts about either letting the site die or changing it, I would like to say something that I probably should have mentioned earlier when I became admin. The reason I wanted to become an admin on this site was because I wanted to help out more and hopefully make some changes to the site. This came from people mentioning about the decline in the site's activity and wanted something done about it on a topic that was made some time ago. That is why not long after that I started up Race Nights about 3 years ago and it did bring in some new members who started competing on the site. Then I became a ban hammer and started on sorting out the videos on TSC.

Now that I became a full admin not long ago, I would like to discuss with Zeupar and Gerbil at some point, to see if the site should/can be changed in some way or not. I had some things that I thought could be added to the site to maybe update it a little.

Ok done the broken and heroes score videos from jimmy's post. I'll deal with Kirby's videos in his post tomorrow.

Edit:
Checked Sonic 4: Episode Metal yesterday and did both Drift games today to make up for tomorrow since I'll hardly be around.

Ok I did the broken videos on Rush Adventure that you gave me and sorted out the duplicate video so there is still one there that works. I'll check the other videos later as I can't really download all the hard drive videos at the moment because internet is bad, so it'll have to wait till Monday.

Also Sonic Rivals 2 has been done.

As for Heroes I'll sort that out tomorrow and I need to find out what to do with the score videos.

Ok I did both Advance videos thanks for that. I will double check the games that don't need video clearance and mariosonic15's Sonic Generations 3DS videos next. I knew about some of Vicklaw's videos not playing back on youtube, since it does say you can watch it on youtube and click on the 'watch on youtube' button to still view them, they should probably stay. I'll double check with Zeupar to see if he agrees with me.

Oh also I am aware that most of my videos don't work anymore and I will be sorting those out when I get to them.

Edit:
Games that don't need video clearance, Sonic Generations (3DS) and Vicklaw's videos have been sorted.

If you want. Anything would help such as linking or putting in a list saying what games and stats there are. At the moment I am just dealing with the small games which aren't in the double figures yet :P

I know quite a lot of people in the past have mentioned that the videos section in TSC have been in need of attention. I did start to make some progress on them but stopped a while back because well let's face it there's a lot of work involved for one person. Most of the games have over 500 videos. However, I would like to continue on them as it would be nice to finally get them sorted out.

I'll be doing a bit here and there and will update on my progress in this topic. If any of you guys want to help out we can start off by looking for any broken videos. By this I mean Youtube videos that say 'video has been removed by the user'. Videos that have been uploaded from the hard drive are a bit trickier, as I found out that one video won't work on one program but will on another. You could still mention these and I'll check them out as I have the necessary programs to check if they actually work.

Games done so far (broken videos only):
  • Sonic 4: Episode Metal
  • Sonic and the Secret Rings
  • Sonic Rush
  • Sonic Colours (DS)
  • Sonic Generations (3DS)
  • Sonic Lost World (3DS)
  • Sonic Drift
  • Sonic Drift 2
  • Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (DS)
  • Sonic Free Riders
  • Sonic Rivals
  • Sonic Rivals 2
  • Sonic the Fighters
  • Sonic Battle
  • Sonic Jam

« on: March 25, 2015, 12:16:04 pm »
Since last week's races barely happened because people were either sick, busy with a marathon or didn't turn up because of no notifications, me and Hyper decided that we will re-do the same games this upcoming Saturday, in the same order as before. add +4 hours for GMT on Saturday, +5 on Sunday (be very careful with times this weekend!)

We'll also make sure that from now on we'll announce what games are being raced both on the forums and The Sonic Center twitter. So if you're not following that account yet, then follow @TheSonicCenter now. One lucky person that follows The Sonic Center's Twitter account will receive TSC Gold for an entire month!*

News and Updates / Race Nights get revived... again
« on: March 09, 2015, 09:18:32 pm »
Race Nights are returning this Saturday 14th March with not one, but three races! Here is a paste bin explaining how the new Race Nights will work and including the games list.

The first games raced will be Sonic Advance at 12 pm, Sonic Heroes at 4 pm and Sonic Generations at 7 pm (times shown here are EDT. Add 4 hours for GMT times). Please note that you will need to be in #sonic (server: irc.speedrunslive.com) at least one hour before the race starts, in order to help decide the goals for these games on race day.

For more information, either head over to #sonic on the SpeedRunsLive server or ask in this topic. If you don't know how to setup an IRC client or simply are a lazy bum, there is an easy alternative. Once you connect there, type /join #sonic and hit enter.

Competition Central / Re: Sonic 2 (GG) Aqua lake act 1 240 Rings

Yeah I had a problem on my youtube channel, somehow loads of videos have gone missing. SonicBoom wanted one and I couldn't find it even though I know for certain I didn't delete it O_o

Anyway I'll try and explain what I did. I'm terrible at explaining if you don't get it I'll be happy to make a video of the trick for you. What I did was I took the ring box underwater. Now this is the tricky part. You need to get to the part where the diagonal spring is right by the spikes. Use the spring to get across the spikes safely. Walk in to the spring close to the sign post and when you hit it roll. Jump over the spikes and hit the diagonal spring. Hold right and hit the wall. When you start going down hold left to hit the bottom part of the spring. You should gain enough speed and height to make it to the breakable wall. You then jump to bounce across the water and then run to the far side of the screen where the hidden 1-up is. Run and jump at the water mushroom and you should bounce across the water and roll on the floor to break the wall.

Hope that helps. If not let me know and I'll make a video of the trick for you.

The reason I bought it up was that when I was going through it, I only saw that the S1GBA Times leadership was mentioned but not the new championship, which was given at the same time. So I wondered if there was some sort of problem with it, in case future championships don't get mentioned or something :/

I like it too. Just one more thing what do you think of tweeting out new champions as well? The only drawback I can think of is that when a new game gets added to TSC, the championship can change hands a lot and we could have a lot of tweets about that. Not sure if that would annoy people or they would find it interesting.

They're working again, but there's one problem. Sitewide rankings are still affected. I definitely remember HyperSonic7701 being second and not third on sitewide. I know he had 700+ points not 674.

TSC Race Night / Just to say...
« on: August 26, 2014, 07:46:57 pm »
Thought I should make this topic so that the people who aren't in the Race Nights skype group will know about this. Me and Hyper have been talking about Race Nights recently and we both decided to step down and stop running it. We're still going to have races happening, it just won't be organised any more on TSC. So yeah thanks guys for joining and hope you had fun while it lasted :D
