So what do you guys think about the E3 trailer? Pretty different Sonic game imo
-
Looks interesting, could be fun. Not sure why they chose to show off the same mechanic multiple times though. Yeah we get it, you can throw stuff at other stuff.
-
Fairly average imo. The grappling hook and grind rail remind me way too much of ratchet and clank all 4 one

RIP

Yeah, it looks very interesting....
I'm going to enjoy it, but eh. I don't like the mach speed like sections and they really don't like me, and I hate that they are back ;.;
The gameplay looks pretty fun though.

The game play isn't very impressive... I'd certainly hope there were more strategy to bosses than picking up things and throwing them at it. It also doesn't look like the kind of game that'd have many charts on the site. Things I noticed immediately:
- There's no timer.
- There's no lives.
- You can't have more than 100 rings. (or 110 with Amy around it looks like?) They also drop in small increments.
I'm getting this strange feeling about the structure of this game too. They haven't named any of the environments at all... could it be that there's no zones in the traditional sense...? Maybe the game tries to be open-world-ish and just carries itself over from one area to the next without interruption? Of course, it could be that they've just neglected to specify any of the details like game modes and number of areas and things like that.
But I think the most depressing thing about all this is the TV show trailer... it reminds me way, way, way too much of trailers I've seen for things like those live action Alvin & the Chipmunks or Smurfs movies. To think the treatment of Sonic in this day and age would be equivalent to a cash grab movie about a decades old series retooled for children under the age of ten who's sole mission is to sell movie tickets and merchandise...

^That's it. I give up. I'm done being a sonic fan.
I FUCKING QUIT

Personally, the 3DS version looks at least half decent and as quoted by a lot looks Metroidvania-styled which isn't entirely a bad thing.
Wii U version on the other hand is just a big pile of turd laying on the sidewalk that Sega scooped up into an oven and called it a game... or at least for a Sonic game once again.
It's a bad Sonic game. But probably wouldn't be as bad if it was a completely new IP all together.
-
The Wii U version looks like the most generic 3D beat-em-up platformer ever conceived with some speedy sections thrown in because gotta go fast. Also the in-level banter sounds even more irritating than in Heroes.
The 3DS game doesn't look all that great either, but seems... less offensive.
-
I feel the Wii U version is gonna be like unleashed and the 3DS version will be like a combination of both Rivals and Rush.
-
Unleashed ****NIGHT**** stages, definitely not Day stages.
-
Aaaaaaaaand Sega just announced they've decided not to make the games U.S.-exclusive after all. Totally did not see that one coming.
-
Something tells me that I'm going to be the only one buying this game <__<
-
I thought it was just Japan they weren't releasing it in?
-
I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't hyped for this game.
I'd also be lying if I said I didn't lose Hype for it after the E3 Trailer.
This game just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe if I had played the Ratchet & Clank games before, I would have thought about trying this game, but even if it is a spin-off, it's definitely not a very interesting one to me, and the gameplay certainly isn't a good way to start off said spin-off.
I'd probably watch the series on CN, see how it is, and that's probably it otherwise :/
-
Personally the series doesn't look too bad for a Cartoon. But I doubt I'd pick up any other version aside from the 3DS version.
It at least has the appeal of the Rivals series in a sense.
-
I'm just waiting for the WiiU demo to get released so that i can get a feel of the controls for the game
-
The E3 trailer definitely looks like a different kind of Sonic game. It looks interesting as well. The combat sections look kind of like the Werehog's levels in Sonic Unleashed. I hope the controls are good and the gameplay is diverse and fun, so that those sections will be more fun than the Werehog's levels. The other sections look cool too, that energy beam could be a good gameplay aspect if it is done right and doesn't get too repetitive.
I'm looking forward a bit to this game; I may buy the Wii U version if it gets good reviews and if I like what I see and hear from it. I have to decide on it more though, but it doesn't look too bad right now. I hope the game is finished, well made and the controls will be good, otherwise that will make me mad and probably make me think again about buying it. Since it is a different Sonic game than the recent games and is a spin-off, people will be more critical of it. I definitely want to see the game be a success, be good, and for it to sell well.

Well all I can say is that The tv show looks awesome, can't wait for it. The game on the other hand... I'll pass.

New Sonic Boom characters. Some feature in the games, some in the Cartoon, some in both.
-
This kinda reminds me about Crash Twinsanity and Crash mutant games with the design and stuff :D

U.S. release dates Nov. 11 for 3DS, Nov. 18 for WiiU. WiiU version is rated E10+, no word yet on whether this involves the word "damn" or not.
