Since I've started to make videos, I was wondering if anyone had any requests of what they'd like to see get done. I'll try to do these requests to the best of my ability (and memory though I'm pretty sure I remember the strategies.) I'll try to do what's requested however I'm sure some requests will be better than others (there are some annoying strategies that are difficult to work with to get the record.) I've already made a few videos for Shadow and you can check these out on YouTube. I guess I'll accept re-do requests (videos I've already made but are horrible or are not close to the record even though it's the same strategy, take The Doom: Dark: 2:51:13 as an example since it's 9 seconds off the record) though I'll probably do non re-dos first. I'll try to set new records in the videos, my current records are a sight to behold, but I don't think they're perfect yet.
I hope to get some videos done over Christmas break (provided people actually request stuff, and my game treats me nicely.) Also, this is for Shadow the Hedgehog requests only (obviously.)
Try to post your requests in this format:

I don't know, when I did this in 2008, the run was over 30 mins long (it is a long ring attack.) I don't want to make a super long video (though i may cut it up into parts.) We'll see, it will depend on how fast I can do it and on the video length.

That guide isn't much of a help since it basically talks about what to get from the checks, but whatever. I'll tell you this, be careful, Cryptic Castle can get very annoying, especially with the damage abuse. You might want to try damage abuse at another check (rather than the 7th) to abuse damage. Also, make sure you check the entire level, there are holes in the walls, check behind the cracked walls that can be broken, etc.
How about Central City: Rings would that be ok? :o

So Lethal Highway: Rings and Glyphic Canyon: Rings. I'll try, I'll need to develop some speed ring attack tactics, or cut up the videos (because I don't want a long video.)
Also, since a good portion of these requests (so far) are ring attacks, I'll tell you all that considering how long some of these may take, it may determine whether I do the request or not. However, I will try, I promise.

I was going to ask for more ring attack videos but I haven't really looked into the levels that I haven't done yet. The ones I did weren't too hard so I'm going to try and do them myself, since RA's seem to be my thing. However if I do have any trouble and this topic dies down by the time I go back to Shadow, would it be ok to make a request on your youtube channel? Sorry stupid question but I have to ask >_>

Sure you can post a comment or PM me on YT. Though hopefully this topic won't be dead. Also, even if you leave a request it may take a while before I can do it (though I hope to get these done over Christmas break), if not you may end up waiting until Summer (May 2011 at least).

That's ok, it'll be a while before I go back to Shadow. I'm concentrating on two other games at the moment and I have other stuff going too :o

Whoa!! Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Since the Westopolis: Hero: Score and Lost Impact: Hero: Score records I got were achieved from TAs, I'll just TA them (and try not to hurt any GUN soldiers or destroy things I don't need to while TAing.) Usually when you're doing a mission in Shadow, you can get two records (Time and Score) just from TAing. Is it alright if they are TAs? Consider all of them (though they be many) accepted.
Now here is an update (so far). I' ve done a few of these, however, they weren't done to the best of my ability. Reason for that is because the C Stick on my GameCube controller is broken. (The C Stick controls the camera angle.) I had to fight with the camera angle, I do have other controllers, but they're all broken as well. Perhaps I should think about getting a new controller before doing the rest of these. I'm happy I (at least) got the following done though:
Frog Forest: Dark: Extra: 5:39:18 (I know it's from Heroes, but I had to Sub 6. It was something I felt I just had to accomplish.)
Mad Matrix: Dark: Time: 5:01:27 (Camera angle nonsense (and a few mistakes) prevented me from filming a Sub 5 run, but it is the same strategy. If you want groudon I can re-film it.)
Central City: 351 Rings (Camera angle messed me up here to, but I managed to get all the rings with 1:30 left on the clock.)
Glyphic Canyon: 367 Rings (I actually did this faster than I thought I would, it's the damage abuse that makes it so time-consuming.)
I'll try to get these uploaded soon. Also, I will look into getting a new controller (you may not know it, but you sometimes need the camera at a certain angle in order to get some things right, that and I'm pretty fed up with fighting the camera.)

TA would be more than fine. I was thinking of putting TA/Score for those anyway. Yeah it is quite the list. To be honest I'll be watching all the videos you make anyway, just seeing those would be cool, so do not consider them with any sort of priority.

You certainly can. (Funny thing though, DsS said he'd make a vid (which was 2 years ago) and that never happened, but the strat was revealed.) Also, Flying Fox feel free to request the other RAs now so that I can put them on my list so they get done.

I got a new controller (now I don't have to fight the camera and more requests can get done. Yay!!:D)

Also, it's taking a long time for YouTube to upload the videos (and that's probably because my internet service at home is slow.) Also, (apparenty) trying to upload the videos slows down my family's network, and they make me cancel the upload because of it. I also tried uploading it overnight, but for some reason the upload always failed. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'll still be making vids, but it might be a while before they are uploaded. (January is probably when I'll be able to upload these, but hopefully I can get some of these uploaded over break)

I already have a guide for the dark mission time. Do you still want a time vid anyway or shall I do a score?
Also, (yet another) update. I worked outrageously hard over the past few days and I now have:
Glyphic Canyon: Dark: Time: 2:16:45 (new record vidded (though it can easily improve). :D)
Prison Island: Hero: Time: 2:10:55 (new record vidded. :D)
Sky Troops: Hero: Time: 2:32:27 (Could be better (since I made mistakes), but this level was frustrating me so I just went for something out of desperation)
Death Ruins: Hero: Time: 1:39:77 (This frustrated me as well, but at least it's Sub 1:40.)
Lost Impact: Hero: Time: 4:24:03 (Score was bad, but the time is good.)
Heavy Dog: 0:18:64 (Could be better, but I'm glad I subbed 20 seconds.)
The Last Way: Time: 1:27:24 (Needs improved, but I'm happy I got this.)
Devil Doom: 1:02:78 (This guy was getting annoying, so I just decided to take any run I could get, though it's 10 seconds off my best.)
Iron Jungle: 363 Rings (I barely got this, I almost died a few times in the run, but I got it. :D)
Still not sure what I'm going to do about uploading, but you can definitely expect these in January for sure.

If it helps, there are guides for:

Prison Island (if you come up 2 rings short, go to the 3rd check and break a nearby canister to find two more rings)
Space Gadget

Since each of these levels are damaged, I'll tell you where it is done for each:
Mad Matrix - 3rd check (the one in the orange (or is it yellow) tower)
Death Ruins - 1st check (don't worry the back-track is easy)
Final Haunt - 7th check
Also, there is a video for Lava Shelter by Paraxade. Now to get the extra 10 rings, do not use chaos control (when Parax did that in his vid he destroyed a crate holding a 10-ring capsule) Also, be patient when sucking up rings at the final defense system (it can take a while before you have 449).
Even if I beat you to these, chances are they still won't be uploaded til January. Hope this helps you a little bit.

That's even better because I have two guides (two because I managed to improve 360 to 373) for The Last Way Rings. I hope you'll find the guides useful. Also, (on a side note) I made 360 to try to help other players (and see some stat submitting.) However, someone got 369, and so then I took it up to 373 and I felt that I should make another guide so people could get the record. Reply back when you finish the RAs and tell me what you still need done (I'm trying to take a few days break and then I'll see about getting more stuff done). Also Flying Fox I checked your ring stats page and saw that you need to do Digital Circuit and Sky Troops, and I do have a video for Digital Circuit and DsS has a vid for Sky Troops so maybe you can start with those RAs. Hope this all helps. Good luck!!

Update: I can't seem to upload Cryptic Castle 566 Rings because it's too long. I did upload it today, but it has been rejected by youtube. D;
I know SJ said length doesn't matter, but I think only certain users can upload videos with long (more than 15 mins) length. I could just upload Cryptic Castle (and for that matter Mad Matrix since it's almost 20 mins long) to the site as a file (the files are MPEG-2), however, both of the files are pretty much a GB and I'd hate to have you download something that huge.
I did apply for the youtube partnership program (though i feel the application will fail) which lets users upload videos longer than 15 mins. However, I don't think it will pass because I'm not popular on YouTube, (though I do have some views from people.) I could cut the videos up into parts, though I REALLY don't want to do that.
Basically, I want for there to be a way to get these on YouTube without cutting it into parts or getting a successful application for the youtube partnership program. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can solve this problem. Thanks and please respond soon.

This may seem random, but YouTube actually enabled my account to upload vids longer than 15 mins. I randonly decided to check on Tuesday (Jan 18) to see if anything changed and that's when I saw that youtube enabled my account to upload longer videos. (That's quite the surprise. Thank you Youtube.) So as a result of this I've uploaded the full videos of Cryptic Castle: 566 rings and Mad Matrix: 566 rings. Not sure if I'll remove the seperate parts of the vids that I made. I may, but it'll be done in the future. I'll add annotations to the full videos later.

I'll time attack Cryptic Castle: Hero (while trying not to work up any dark points, though I'm not sure how I got the score record though chances are I was TAing to get it.)

Consider these accepted, just be patient until I get to them. Also, Paused do you think you'll be submitting for Shadow? It just seems that you're the one looking for all the strategies (that aren't ring attacks.)

That's crazy. I always did it different from the time run, when I did score. I had the same way but a different stragety for a score run than for a time run (I shot 11 more Gun soldiers/robots to recieve 2200 points). OK, let's see.

For Final Haunt: Hero, the time and score records were obtained using different strategies, so I think I'll make a video for the time and a video for the score. (That's okay with you right?)

Hmm... good question. To be honest I am more intrested In just seeing other people play skillfully, as, whilst I am good, players like you are far better. I have not done any speed running since my vodka filled student days when I was silly enough top get to thinking of doing a run of Sonic2006 for SDA. I'll see what I can do to giving you a little competiton though. I owe you one for these videos.

I'm not accepting requests for Heroes, but I guess I'll consider this (and ONLY this.) However, I can't remember my strategies for either mission, but maybe I can just make one up or something. This might get done or it might not get done.
On a side note: The only vids I really want to do for Heroes are:
Grand Metro: Dark: Extra (I say it needs re-done without pausing. Hopefully Sub 3:20)
Egg Fleet: Dark: Extra (Again without pausing, but want to vid a sub 6 run also.)
Hang Castle: Chaotix: Rings (partial) (this is just to show that back-track from the back-ring area to the actual level)
Not sure when I'll do those though.
Also, about the (over-use of) pausing in those vids. I'd like to apologize for that becuase it really doesn't make me look like a good player (in my opinion). Sure the strategies are good, but the pausing gets annoying (and honestly it justs make the videos longer than they should be.) At least when I did Frog Forest: Dark: Extra I didn't pause at all (which makes me extra proud of that run.)

Ok, over the span of time, I will say that I have these:
Air Fleet: Normal: Time: 2:06:77(not bad, but it needs bettered)
Air Fleet: Dark: Time: 0:48:76

Now I was hoping to do some more this week (since it is my Spring Break) however, someone broke the new controller (that I just got in December 2010, 2 months ago (or should I say 3 months since it is March)). Now the C stick works, but whenever I turn with the control stick Shadow slows down (and what good is that for TAing?) Maybe I will get my own controller (so that no one else touches it), that way people can stop breaking the controller time after time. I'm pretty peeved that I just got the new controller and now it broke again. Life can be so rough (and stupid) sometimes.
Now if I do manage to get to these I will start with GUN Fortress: Hero: Time and Air Fleet: Normal: Time (I know I have a vid for Air Fleet: Normal, but I want to try to vid a new record. 2:05 or 2:04 should be possible here) and GUN Fortress: Hero should be able to sub 2:25 as well.
Lastly, I am closing requests for now and the reason for that is I don't want the work to pile up (seeing the work pile up stresses me), but I will open requests again, I promise.

Hey guys, it's been a while (2 months pretty much.) I'm just here to say that I'm done with school so now I hope I can start to get these done (though I have no idea when I will upload.)
If you haven't checked the new records, then I'll have you know I got 2:21:66 on GUN Fortress: Hero (though Sub 2:20 is possible, but I can't stand this level and I was aiming for 2:21 at least and I got it which makes me happy (some what))
Also, if I have committed thread necromancy then I apologize (I guess).

LOL I just sent you a PM about SATBK. Anyway, my Wii is not hooked up for recording (however I definitely would like to record some things from SATBK, so I'm for this). My only questions are: How should I hook everything up so I can record to VHS? I have a TV, a VCR and the Wii (of course) how should I hook everything up so I can possibly try to do this? Can you give me some help or tips?

Well I use a dazzle to record from my Wii so I don't really know. Isn't it possible to set it up just like your GC/PS2/whatever you use to play Shadow?
Also yeah I got your PM and I can still remember those strats. Once I've taken the test for part 2 of my course I shall hit up on those or I might try a bit earlier. I need to install pinnacle onto my laptop. I'll try and record them but it may take me a while to get them. It's been so long since I played SBK. If it takes too long I might just record the trick on Crystal Cave - Rampage, which is pretty hard. Maybe this time I can max it, I missed an enemy on there so it should be 83 :/

Hmm, I'm sure it's possible, but I think I need another VCR so I can record. I did managed to hook a VCR to the TV, but when i hooked the Wii to the VCR it's not showing up anywhere (or the Wii Menu isn't showing up on any of the VCR channels) . Maybe I need a new VCR or something. We'll just have to wait and see for now.

Honestly, the other four I was going to do anyway (provided I can get everything working.) Although, can we please try to keep requests to Shadow the Hedgehog only (even though I'm getting requests for Heroes and Black Knight.) Remember this is the SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG video requests topic (lol). So only request Shadow stuff (please).

Yes, I do know. Be careful you hit the switch that opens the door in front of the shadow crate from the other side. Then(and maybe also before) open up Hero Gauge with Heal Cannon and fire that's in your way. Time your CC right and there should be no trouble getting below 1 minute. But how to get under 0:45 is strange to my eyes... I'll wait till I watch the video.
OK, here goes the stragety for FHH Score: You don't have anything to do besides to kill the enemy that reappears again and again. It is after the 2nd check on the bottom the last enemy you see before going onto the path above. It only gives 150 points, but when you kill it very often, you can make the 100000 in under 100 mins(I got all the other enemies too, and I don't even know whether 99:59:99 is time over or not. If not, you can get indefine hero score.)

I knew about that respawning enemy (in Final Haunt), but the funny thing is I don't even kill him in my run. I will do Blue Falcon, but I'm not sure about Egg Dealer.

Awesome. Great Cryptic Castle run, just what I was hoping to see. How many points were you missing from back tracking whilst the wall receeded out of curiosity?
Loved the score attack of Air fleet too. (Especially as it was score attack that wasn't requested by me.) The time attack had inspired/stupidly risky tricks too.

Now these vids are pretty long, Digital Circuit: Dark and Final Haunt: Hero are basically 5 mins, and Lava Shelter is 13 Mins. My computer (or my internet) can't handle uploading these big videos (I don't know why). So (as I keep saying) just be patient, until I find a way to get these up. Also, be glad I decided to upload (some of) these as early as I did.

I know very little about these things so forgive me if this is a stupid suggestion...
Would compressing them into a .zip file or the like, so the file size is smaller, and then uploading to a fileshare site or emailing them to a fellow TSC member work? The videos could then be uploaded by some else on your behalf on to the TSC youtube channel.

You're welcome. Hmm, I'm gonna say I'm not done with Shadow yet (Am I ever done with Shadow? lol). There are things I still want to do (or do-over), and I'm not sure if everyone is done requesting stuff either. You (or anyone else) can still request stuff (I guess), however, my time might not be so abundant (or I won't have as much free time) as it was when summer started, so the wait might be long for vids.

For 'Iron Jungle,Hero, Score,' would the strat be the same as the time attack? due to the time bonus? Or is it similar to 'AirTroops Dark Score' where you destroy the target half way through the stage?

It's like Air fleet: dark: score, you weaken the egg balloon and die and then rack up a score and then kill the balloon. Do you want a video for Iron Jungle: Hero: Score (just asking)?

In regards to Lava Shelter, I don't know if I'll do them all, but I may do some. I have my own personal agenda for videos right now, and I just got a job (though I suppose that's not your business to know that), so we'll see what my free time can give me in the coming days.
