Title: Hello!
Post by: dezzie on April 30, 2009, 05:20:52 am
Hi all!!

Well, I thought I'd join in the fun.  Just recently had a good nostalgia burst when I dug out my trusty Mega Drive and played my way through S3K and loved it!

I'm not bad at Sonic games, not the quickest, so hopefully I'll pick up some hints here.

I've been playing Sonic games since the first game came out, I remember going to the local electronics store and playing Sonic 1 on the demo machine there and being kicked out for spending too long on it!.  I eventually got my own and have been hooked since! I'm much more a fan of the 2D games i used to play when I was a kid and love playing them now.  I'm trying my best with the 3D stuff but find it much harder to get into them in the same way. I still have my Master System and my Mega Drive (and CD) and love em!

Anyway, hope to get to know you guys!

Dezzie

I often use Firefox at home.  Right now, I'm in the office - meant to be working but can't be bothered

You're already ticking off all the criteria on the "Awesome Person" checklist

28 what. You're way out of our league! :P

Most of us here are probably in the 18-21 bracket, being young and impressionable back when Sonic used to be cool...

Also hi. :D If you're bored at work drop by the chatroom - it's what I do! But none of you heard me say that >_>

Yay! Someone else who seems to consider their job important! :D

I don't have one yet, but I'm in the process of getting there. I'm an education major, just wrapping my first senior year of college out of two. I'll student teach starting next January and graduate about a year and a week from now. My specializations are an English major and History minor... for high school, of course. >.>

(Also, yes, I am aware that my use of "their" above is non-standard. Anyone who has an issue with that can [redacted]; I'm a grammatical descriptivist and "his or her" is dead outside of formal writing.)

Well hasn't little ol' me caused a bit of excitement today...

My wife is out tonight, this has inspired me to dig out the mega drive again and get some speed runs in...

I could just load up an emulator, but it's not the same as the real thing you've owned for all those years :)

I feel you on that, Dez. I won't bother with PC emulation. I've got a Genesis, a yobo (cheap knockoff that plays NES, SNES, and Genesis Carts), and Sonic Mega Collection to choose from. Sometimes you do have to emulate to get the best performance, but that's waht SMC is for :)

Yobo's not mine, it's my boyfriend's, but he shares. <3

Have you tried getting your wife into Sonic? :3

She plays occasionally,  Don't tell anyone but she beat me at vs on Sonic 2 last time we played.  I sulked and insisted on a rematch.  I won, I was happy again.

I have a number of friends with cerebral palsy and they regularly beat me at video games, so don't feel bad.

Hello, though I seem a little late to say that.It seems everyone's past the "hello"s and starting up conversation. Anyways, I really like S3K, though I play the PC version (not emulated).
