The mythical event first proposed by NintenDan known as the TSC Convention may soon be a reality.
Before we make a decision on its viability, however, we probably need to gauge how many people will be attending. Here's the current details, which are a little sketchy:
Location: Rolken mentioned flyby's dad has a place in Maryland which is in closer proximity to most TAers than Utah. This is the current front-runner to host, but this is open to suggestion.
Time: Will obviously have to be some time in the northern summer when everyone's on holidays. Either side of the Mario Kart convention (Aug2-6) would be good particularly if there's people considering attending both. Could 07/07/07 really be the day?
I'd also propose a general, while not steadfast, rule that it'd be difficult for you to attend if you're under 16 (though not impossible if you have progressive parents heh).
More details to hopefully come from Rolken at some stage because I'm tired and probably missed heaps of important stuff.
EDIT: I checked out the MK64 forums and their convention was a few days later than I thought. Fixed.

I think 7/7/7 would work very nicely. If we're gonna have a TSC convention, it's GOTTA be on this date
I don't know if I would go by car to this or not, but I'm thinking not, as it depends onif I can get my license in time (it's a long story >_>)
I would like to go by car though, that way I could possibly bring some setups for friendly competition. I definetly think I could fit two tvs, a vcr, two cubes (if I can get that one's lens fixed), SA2B, SADX, SH, SGC, etc.
Though I probably shouldn't be worrying about that stuff for now, but just letting you know I can do it.
But yeah, like Mikey said, the biggest issue right now is finding out if enough people are willing to put forth a commitment that they will be attending (so if 30 of you reply with a yes, then I except to see 30 of you there!)

Heh, to be honest Mike, I didn't think that MSN convo about the convention was actually about planning one, I thought you were yanking me (seeing as we ended it with 10 or so ways to create havoc at the Mario Kart convention).
Maryland would definitely work for me, it's a two-hour drive from here and that's hella closer than Utah. Funny you should suggest July 29th for a date as it's my birthday and at age 18 I'd be free to make a few more decisions for myself in terms of parents wondering about it... I could probably cart some things down there too if I attended. It's all speculative; with all of the news stories about what happens when Internet friends meet up IRL, I doubt I'd get permission right away, and in all honesty the media scare tactics have had me a lil' freaked out myself.
When details arise, I'll let you know. I gotta consider that if I have a summer job I'll need to request leave.

Eh even though Maryland's closer than Utah, I doubt I could attend.
1. I still live at home with semi-paranoid parents. Not a big reason, but meh. I could potentially work around it.
2. (The real reason.) I'm taking classes this summer so's I can graduate in December. Road trip's probably out of the question. (Especially since one of them is Senior Design, and I don't know when my team might need me. Hell, I don't know who's on my team yet.)

I can't vouch for Quartz on the matter, but college has summer classes, which I'm damn well taking if it means I can graduate and have a real job by Christmas. (Well, graduate for sure. Not sure about real job. But the hope's there.)

Hmm, that's moderately close for me, I suppose I'd be able to take a train down there as I vaguely remember taking a train to Baltimore. but the main issue is parents, I'll be 19 by that time, but still, they're very restrictive. Also, I plan on taking Stats over the Summer and maybe get a job at a bank full time, so I might have to say no on this one. :( If it's ever in New York, then I'll be the first one there, heh. :x

Maryland's not that far (compared to Utah, anyway), but there's no way I'd be able to go,
unless it happened that my parents actually decided to go through the U.S. around August.
Which is possible, but not too likely. If we do go, it might be at the wrong time or something.
And although I'll probably have a good enough license by then, I still wouldn't be going by myself.
No, wait... looking at a map, it's kind of closer than I thought. But anyway, I probably can't go.
Unless I get lucky, or unless you really do move it to Toronto. :P

San Fransisco (actually a place about an hour from there called Mountain View, although hopefully I'll be acquiring a car of some description), and it's now from the 2nd (partly hence why I've been quiet lately, well that and blowing up my old rig >_>).
